The Process - How to Officially Hire me for your Intimate Wedding

If you’re overwhelmed or curious about booking an intimate wedding that really **truly** speaks to you? Planning a day without all the frills and extras and keeping it fundamental with what you stand for your relationship. I’ll let you in on a secret: I love documenting weddings but I’m not wedding obsessed. Don’t get me wrong, there are so many reasons why I love weddings (duh! I’m in this business of love for a reason….)

  • I love the fact that this is a celebration of your love story with the ones you love most.

  • I love that this represents the start of a new chapter together as one family.

  • I even love that there are personal vows that are goofy and true to the both of you.

"My people" are those who think about how you want the day to feel – not just when, where, and what you want it to look like. When you’re ready, when you know you want to have an intimate celebration with the ones you love because you want every moment of your day to feel intentional, that’s where I come in. I’ll work with you every step of the way to curate an experience that’s uniquely yours.

Want to know what to expect? Here’s a little bit more about what my booking process looks like:

Start by choosing a collection and things you like about it Once you know how you want your day to feel, I can help you decide how many hours you’ll need based on the things that are most important to you. At the same time, you’ll want to think about the types of things you want as main-staples in your day that we can start thinking about a schedule around those. Here are a few things that I think are most important that we can then work from to determine the number of hours of service from me:

  • When you’re putting your dress on (literally, when are you stepping into your attire?)

  • Ceremony Start Time

  • Thinking about a First Look (don’t worry, I can help you weigh out your options)

  • Reception Start Time

  • Sunset Time (depending on the time of year that’s something I’ll know)

  • When the Dancing Starts (party time!)

Book me with a $500 deposit + contract Once you’ve chosen a collection that fits your needs best, I’ll send over an invoice for your $500 deposit and a contract to make it official! This locks in your date, and gives me the go-ahead to start sending you all the resources and tips that will help you throughout your wedding planning including key vendors, travel logistics, engagement session options, scheduling examples to help, and more!

I share my Welcome Guide I go through all the things (!) that I have found work best for your wedding day allowing you to level out the things that might have been on your mind and perhaps other ideas you hadn’t thought of for planning your wedding. This guide includes all the fundamentals you will need for planning a wedding but I like to emphasize the things that make it YOURS, an INTIMATE wedding too. Things like…..

  • COUPLES PORTRAITS - During the day there is going to be a set time for the three of us (third wheel for the win!) whether it be before the ceremony or after where your couples portraits are captured. I have made my time for the couples portraits a sacred time for my couples. When your guests and family arrive I want you to enjoy every moment with them. During that time I don’t want to have to keep pulling you away for any reason. Our portrait session is sacred for that reason but it also gives me a chance to create an experience for the both of you. A time like this calls for a great location. It can be somewhere epic, somewhere nearby, or somewhere cozy. A place where you both can have a great moment together during your day. Depending on where this location is, a lot of the time weddings are all at one venue (which makes things super easy for this) we can work that into one of your staple events for the day and work a schedule that makes sense around that.

  • FINDING THE RIGHT TEAM - I know some amazingly talented vendors that can offer you some great elements to help meet your dreams. Again, I’m not all about every detail, but there are a few things that I really love. I will point you in the right direction if you are still seeking some elements.

  • YOUR TIMELINE - Bearing in mind the light, time of day, ceremony start time, first looks, etc, we’ll make a timeline that flows in a way that focuses on the time you spend together and the adventures you’ve planned that day. We can lock in a rough schedule one month before the wedding.

I share resources as the time gets closerMost of my collections include an engagement/adventure session so I will see you there! Though I don’t want to stop our conversation just there until the wedding. I will be sending questionnaires closer to the date but I will also send you some resources that I hope you find helpful leading up. It’s a great way for me to bring more options for you and opportunities for you to ask any question that might come up regarding those things.

Your Engagement/Adventure SessionThis applies to my photography couples. This is our time to come together, meet in person (most couples book me via phone or skype to get a better sense if we’re a good match), and have you in front of a camera before the wedding day. I think this is so important because let’s be honest being in front of a camera is not a natural thing. I’m there to give you an experience where I guide through actions and not posing. An approach I practise with all sessions and all weddings. We select a location that works best for you and have some fun!

You receive your full gallery within 2 weeks of our session.

The Questionnaires

  • For Photography - The first one involves your family and the people closest to you. I do my best to learn as many people's names as possible before your wedding. Keeping things intimate it’s always best to make everyone feel welcomed and important. I take that on and try my best to make that happen. The second questionnaire is all about the schedule, locking in all the staple elements you want in your day, and any last things I need from you.

  • For Videography - The first questionnaire is all about the creative input you want for your video. Mainly surrounded around music recommendations I have curated all the right things to ask when blending audio, visual, and music choices from your wedding day to create a video that is YOURS. The second questionnaire is all about the schedule, locking in all the staple elements you want in your day, and any last things I need from you.

You get married! After months of planning, it’s time to tie the knot! I can’t wait to be there to document every moment of your day, and provide you with content that capture the feeling behind every moment, every experience of your intimate wedding.

I send you a sneak peek It’s so important to have a few photos right after, to savor the magic of the amazing thing you just did. That’s why I always provide my couples with a small gallery (usually around 10 images) so you have something to share with loved ones for you to keep those feelings present.

I deliver an online gallery with a print shop attached I do my best to turn around galleries in 4-6 weeks for each of my weddings. Once I’ve edited your full collection of images, I’ll send you a link to an online gallery that gives you access to high resolution and web-sized photos. You’ll be able to share this gallery with friends and family, and my online gallery platform comes with an amazing print shop that gives you access to a ton of different print options.

And that’s it! If you’re ready to book, I’d love to start this process with you. Just click here and tell me more about you!
