There's nothing more fun than coming into your pet's comfort zone. I love coming into my client's backyards and creating some magic with their pup for the camera during the summer time. As these sessions are limited, here are a few tips I've found to work best when wanting to capture your pup in their own backyard.
1/ Declutter your Backyard
This helps for anyone you might have coming over and walking around your backyard. When I say declutter your backyard I'm talking about putting the hose away if it's out, if there's clothes out on the line, things left out on the table, etc.. This helps me because we won't have to spend time moving things around for the shot. Side Note: we can always take the hose back out for some outside fun!
2/ If you have a Small Backyard
If you have a small backyard that you're worried about moving around and getting the shot, we can totally use your backyard for some photos but then go to your pups favourite spot on their walks. This will make for a great comfortable space for them and a convenient spot where we won't feel rushed.
3/ Fun Activities
Like in Parker's session here we had so much putting him on the pool floatie and getting a little swim in. It was a great activity to show another fun side to your pup. Fun activities could be something as simple as getting hose out, or bringing out their favourite toy, OR even getting a ball out and getting their little legs running. I know sometimes it's fun to do the peanut butter challenge to see how much your pup licks the top of their mouth. All things that can be done outside.
Take a look at our session with Parker & Kaitlyn on one of the hottest days of summer. It was such a blast and I LOVE seeing his sweet personality in these photos.
